1. What these terms cover
These Subscription Terms of Sale apply when you buy a paid Chick subscription through the Chick website. They explain the commercial terms of the sale: the product you are buying, price and renewal information, cancellation, refunds, immediate digital access, payment failure, fair-use controls, and support.
Your use of Chick is also governed by Chick’s Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, AI & Health Disclaimer, Acceptable Use Policy, and any consent choices you make in the app.
2. What a subscription gives you
A Chick subscription gives the subscribed Chick account access to the paid Chick service and supported features for the billing period shown before checkout, subject to availability, fair-use controls, plan limits, provider availability, abuse prevention, and these terms.
Chick may include AI-assisted food logging, image analysis, voice features, summaries, planning, guidance, reports, and retained food-scan history. These features are support tools. They are not medical, dietary, clinical, or emergency advice.
3. Price, billing period, and automatic renewal
The checkout flow shows the plan name, price, currency, billing period, and renewal wording before you continue to payment. You should not continue unless you understand the displayed price and billing period.
Unless the checkout clearly says otherwise, a subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until it is cancelled. By starting a subscription, you authorise Chick’s payment provider to charge the payment method used at checkout for recurring subscription fees and applicable taxes or charges until cancellation.
4. Immediate digital access
Chick is a digital service. When you ask Chick to begin service immediately after payment confirmation, access can start before any statutory cancellation period has expired where such rights apply.
Where the law allows, requesting immediate digital access may affect cancellation or refund rights once access has started. Chick will show an acknowledgement before checkout where immediate access is requested. Nothing in these terms removes mandatory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
5. AI-assisted features are fair-use controlled
Chick does not promise unlimited AI-assisted or high-cost processing unless a plan specifically says so; AI-assisted features are not unlimited. AI-assisted features may be subject to fair use, technical limits, plan limits, abuse prevention, provider availability, maintenance, model availability, system reliability, and commercial sustainability controls.
Chick may limit, delay, queue, refuse, or temporarily disable AI-assisted features where needed to protect service reliability, prevent abuse, manage cost, comply with provider restrictions, or keep the product commercially sustainable. We try to make limits understandable, but exact anti-abuse thresholds may remain internal.
6. Nutrition, health, and AI limitations
Nutrition values, calorie estimates, macro estimates, image-analysis outputs, voice-derived logs, summaries, and AI guidance can be inaccurate or incomplete. Chick is not a medical device and does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, emergency guidance, eating-disorder care, or disease-management advice.
You are responsible for checking important information and seeking professional advice where appropriate. Do not rely on Chick for urgent health concerns, severe dietary restriction, medical conditions, medication decisions, pregnancy or paediatric nutrition, eating-disorder support, or any situation requiring professional care.
7. Cancellation
You can cancel a web subscription through the secure billing area made available from your Chick account or the payment provider’s customer portal. Cancellation normally stops future renewal charges. Access may continue until the end of the current paid period unless the checkout, portal, or mandatory law says otherwise.
Deleting the app, logging out, not using Chick, or deleting an account may not by itself cancel a payment arrangement if billing is handled by a payment provider. Chick’s account-deletion flow is designed to handle active Chick web subscriptions, but you should still check the billing portal and payment confirmation information.
8. Refunds
Refund eligibility depends on these terms, the Billing & Refund Policy, the checkout information, the payment provider’s processes, and mandatory law. Unless required by law or clearly stated in the purchase flow, fees are not automatically refunded for unused time, non-use, accidental renewal, dissatisfaction with estimates, or failure to cancel before renewal.
Chick may provide a refund, credit, extension, or goodwill adjustment at its discretion. Doing so once does not create an obligation to do so again.
9. Payment failure and access changes
If a payment fails, Chick or its payment provider may retry the payment, ask you to update payment details, apply a short grace period, limit paid access, suspend access, or end the subscription. Chick changes paid access only after secure confirmation from the payment provider or another approved entitlement source.
10. Price and plan changes
Chick may change prices, plan names, features, allowances, AI limits, scan limits, upload limits, or fair-use rules. Where a material change affects existing paid users, Chick will aim to handle it fairly and, where appropriate, apply it from a future billing period rather than unexpectedly removing substantial value during a paid period.
If you do not accept a future price increase or material plan change, you should cancel before the change takes effect. We may apply emergency or anti-abuse limits where needed to protect service reliability or prevent misuse.
11. Taxes and payment provider
Prices may include or exclude taxes depending on location, payment provider settings, and checkout presentation. Stripe or another payment provider may process payment details, receipts, invoices, card updates, cancellation tools, refunds, disputes, and payment-security checks.
Chick does not store raw card details.
12. Subscription confirmation
After successful payment confirmation, Chick aims to record the checkout session, the plan shown, the price shown, the billing period shown, and the acknowledgements collected before checkout. Chick may also send a transactional confirmation email. Keep your Stripe receipt and Chick confirmation for your records.
13. Support
For billing, cancellation, refund, account, privacy, or access questions, contact support@chick.health or use the Chick Contact page. Chick may need to verify account ownership before disclosing data or making sensitive changes.
